Cuesta College debuts Holiday Extravaganza concert on Dec. 6

– Cuesta College will present the inaugural Cuesta College Holiday Extravaganza on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at the CPAC Mainstage. The concert will feature three of the college’s music programs together on one stage.
The event will include the Cuesta Wind Ensemble, the Cuesta College Chamber Singers, the Cuesta Jazz Bands, and combos from the college’s national award-winning Jazz Combo program. Conductors John Knutson, Jennifer Martin, and Ron McCarley will lead a lineup that includes holiday favorites, choral works, jazz standards, and new classical compositions.
Faculty said the size and variety of the event reflect the CPAC’s homegrown-themed alumni concert held during its 10th anniversary in 2019. “This first-time effort to do a department-wide holiday special is amazing because it will involve all of the music groups at Cuesta College,” said Performing Arts Division Chair Ron McCarley. “The sheer scale of this concert is something we’ve only tried to do a few times, and I think this will be one of our most special events. We just want everyone to have a moment to reflect and be inspired by the beauty of the season and what is happening with our amazing students.”
The production will include staging moments, transitions, and music presented from multiple areas of the CPAC. Students will rehearse and perform with peers from other programs, creating a theater-like flow intended to support reflection and celebration. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early to visit the Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery before the concert begins.
The Cuesta College Holiday Extravaganza is part of the 2025–26 CPAC season titled “A Season of Inspiration,” sponsored by Warren and Linda Balfour. The college also thanked Toni and Craig Kincaid for sponsoring the performance.
