Free restraining order help offered for domestic violence victims
Assistance available through the end of the year
– By the People, a legal document preparation service, is offering free restraining order assistance for victims of domestic violence through the end of 2025.
The program is available at the company’s Paso Robles office, located at 945 Spring Street, Suite 7A. To ensure individualized service, the office will provide up to five free restraining order filings per month.
“At By the People, we believe no one should have to choose between their safety and the cost of legal help,” said Tyler Brewer, registered legal document assistant and program coordinator. “This offering reflects our ongoing mission to make access to justice more affordable and compassionate—especially for those in crisis.”
The program includes document preparation, court filing guidance, and step-by-step support throughout the restraining order process.
