City to launch Sunday aquatics program
Program begins Aug. 10 with a Community Swim Day
– The City of Atascadero will offer weekend swim opportunities to the community on Sundays through late summer as part of its 2025 Sunday Aquatics Program.
The program begins Aug. 10 with a Community Swim Day featuring recreational swim from 12 to 3 p.m. Group and private swim lessons will start Aug. 17 and run every Sunday through Sept. 21, offering three skill levels. Each swim lesson includes five 30-minute sessions per Sunday.
Regular Sunday programming will include lap swim from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., private lessons from 11:30 a.m. to noon, group lessons from 12:10 to 12:40 p.m. for levels 1, 2 and 3, and recreational swim from 1 to 3 p.m.
Rates for drop-in lap and recreational swim will be $5 per participant. Swim passes will be available for $45, covering 10 swims that may be used for either lap or recreational swim and shared among family members. Group swim lessons will cost $85 for residents and $93.50 for nonresidents. Private lessons will cost $185 for residents and $203.50 for nonresidents.
Registration for lessons can be completed online at www.atascadero.org by selecting “Activities & Recreation” and then “Register for A Class or Activity.” In-person registration for lessons, passes and drop-in swims will be available at the Colony Park Community Center, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Passes and drop-in swim fees may also be paid on the day of the event to onsite pool staff via cash or check. Passes must be purchased in person.
