Deputies arrest two after stabbing in Cambria
Juvenile males, ages 14 and 16, hospitalized after assault
– Deputies from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men after responding to a stabbing that injured two juvenile males on the 2200 block of Main Street in Cambria on June 29 at approximately 9:06 p.m..
Deputies arrived at the scene and assisted with medical aid. They obtained a description of a vehicle the suspects had used to flee. A short time later, deputies, with assistance from the California Highway Patrol, stopped the suspect vehicle on Highway 46 at Hidden Valley Road in Templeton. Two adult males were detained without incident.
The victims, ages 14 and 16, were taken to a local hospital. One was discharged shortly after. The second was transferred to a specialized care facility for continued observation. Both are expected to recover.
The investigation determined that a knife was used in the assault. At this time, it does not appear the suspects and victims knew each other prior to the incident.
Deputies arrested 32-year-old Miguel Angel Cervantes of Delano on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. They also arrested 33-year-old Jose Munoz of Delano on suspicion of being an accessory.
