Community raises funds for local barber injured in cliff fall
– Community members are rallying around Madelyn Rain, a barber at The Real McCoy Barbershop in Atascadero, after she survived a 30-foot fall from a cliff while hiking last week. She landed in a river and was later airlifted to safety with fractured vertebrae.
According to the barbershop, Rain does not have medical insurance and is now facing a long recovery. A GoFundMe page has been created to help cover her medical bills, lost income and ongoing recovery expenses.
“Madelyn isn’t just a skilled barber; she’s a kind, hardworking soul who brings warmth, laughter, and precision to every cut. Her absence is deeply felt in the shop and by the many clients who adore her,” the barbershop wrote.
The online fundraiser states that Rain fractured three vertebrae in her back and will be unable to work for at least a month, possibly longer.
Organizers of the fundraiser are asking for donations or for community members to share the campaign to help provide support during her recovery.
