Atascadero Community Band concert series returns this summer
Series will run through Aug. 19 and will conclude with the band’s third annual Ensembles Concert
– The Atascadero Community Band will begin its Tuesdays in the Park concert series June 10, offering free concerts every Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Atascadero Lake Park bandstand. The series will run through Aug. 19 and will conclude with the third annual Ensembles Concert.
The concerts provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy live music in a lakeside setting. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnics, and beverages.
Each week features a different program with a variety of musical styles, including classical favorites, patriotic marches, jazz, pop, and film scores. Ten volunteer conductors lead the performances, giving each concert a unique feel. The band is an all-age, all-volunteer nonprofit organization focused on sharing live music with the community.
The season finale on Aug. 19 will highlight small ensembles formed from within the band, offering a more intimate experience showcasing individual members’ talents.
“The band is thrilled to continue this tradition for 40 years now!” said Joyce Rabellino, president of the Atascadero Community Band. “It’s our way of giving back to the community that supports us, and we love seeing families and friends gather each week to enjoy the music and the beautiful park.”
Concerts are free, and donations are accepted to support the band’s mission.
The series also includes a patriotic tribute on July 1 from 7 to 8 p.m.
