Atascadero Summer Movies in the Park events return
Movies are free to attend
– The City of Atascadero will host Summer Movies in the Park on June 13 and July 11 at Colony Park Softball Field No. 2, located at 5599 Traffic Way, next to the Colony Park Community Center. The city will show “Moana 2” on June 13 and “Mufasa” on July 11.
The movies will begin about 15 minutes after sunset. Beginning at 7 p.m., attendees can participate in activities including chalk drawing, frisbee tossing, mini-soccer games and sack races. Food will be available for purchase at both events.
On June 13, the city will present “Moana 2,” rated PG. The movie follows Moana and Maui as they reunite for a voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters.
On July 11, the city will present “Mufasa,” also rated PG. The story follows Mufasa, an orphaned cub who meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline. This meeting sets in motion a journey for a group of misfits searching for their destinies.
The movies and activities are free for the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and a low-back chair. For more information, visit www.VisitAtascadero.com or call (805) 470-3360.
