Atascadero Community Band to present tribute to women composers
Donations will benefit the San Luis Obispo Youth Symphony
– The Atascadero Community Band will perform its final formal indoor concert of the season on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. at the Atascadero Bible Church. The free concert, titled Maestra – Music from Women, will celebrate the creativity and influence of women through a vibrant musical tribute.
The performance will feature a variety of pieces, including “We Got the Beat,” “Cats on Mars,” “Butterfly (roars),” and “Tank!” Each piece highlights the talent of female composers and arrangers from diverse genres. The concert offers an opportunity to honor and celebrate women, inviting both women and men to attend.
In line with the band’s mission to serve both music and community, donations collected at the event will benefit the San Luis Obispo Youth Symphony. The symphony provides ensemble education to local youth while fostering new audiences across the Central Coast. The Atascadero Community Band is proud to support this initiative, helping to ensure that music continues to thrive for future generations.
The concert will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the Atascadero Bible Church. Admission, parking, and refreshments are free, though donations are encouraged.
