Art Center of Morro Bay to feature innovative pastel exhibition

Awards ceremony and reception will be held on April 19

– The Art Center of Morro Bay will host “Out of Bounds!,” an exhibition presented by The Pastel Society of the West Coast. The show will feature a range of unique works that break away from traditional pastel expressions, filling both levels of the gallery.

The exhibition, which opens on April 3 and runs through May 11, offers an innovative take on the pastel medium by combining pastel with one or more other mediums in two-dimensional works. Unlike traditional pastel exhibits, which require entries to be at least 80% pastel, this exhibition allows for a maximum of 50% pastel, giving artists the opportunity to explore new creative boundaries.

An awards ceremony and reception will be held on April 19 from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring renowned British pastelist Tony Allain.
