First rain should arrive Tuesday
– A storm system is set to bring rain and gusty winds to Atascadero this week, with the heaviest precipitation expected Tuesday and Thursday.
Monday will remain dry under cloudy skies, with a high of 59 and a low of 45. The first round of rain arrives Tuesday, bringing an estimated 0.69 inches of precipitation along with strong winds. Temperatures will reach 60 degrees before dipping to 41 overnight.
Conditions will improve briefly on Wednesday, with only a slight chance of rain and a high of 57. However, another storm moves in Thursday, bringing 0.44 inches of rain and wind as temperatures drop to a low of 32 degrees.
By Friday, the system will taper off with lingering morning showers, followed by clearing skies and a high of 58. A dry and sunny weekend is expected, with highs in the low 60s and overnight lows near freezing.
