Crews contain Templeton house fire, two pets lost
Cause of the fire remains under investigation
– Firefighters contained a residential structure fire within 30 minutes at 7:25 a.m. on Jan. 30 at 1220 Bennett Way, space 40, in Templeton. The fire occurred in a double-wide modular home and was reported by the occupants.
Templeton Fire and Emergency Services responded with multiple units, including Templeton Fire Chief 7100, Engine 7195, and Engine 7160. Additional assistance came from San Luis Obispo County Fire Engine 30, San Luis Obispo County Fire Battalion 3415, Atascadero Fire Engine 7591, and Paso Robles Fire Engine 8191. A total of 15 personnel were on the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage and front door. Crews quickly worked to contain the fire, bringing it under control within 30 minutes. No injuries were reported among civilians or emergency personnel, but two cats died in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the estimated property and content loss is $500,000. The property value saved has not been determined.
