Cuesta College appoints Todd Hampton to assistant superintendent, vice president
Todd Hampton has over 14 years of experience in the California Community College system
– Todd Hampton has been appointed assistant superintendent and vice president of administrative services at Cuesta College, effective Jan. 13. The San Luis Obispo County Community College District Board of Trustees approved the appointment at its December meeting following a national search and a recommendation from Cuesta College Superintendent and President Jill Stearns.
“Dr. Hampton’s extensive leadership experience and passion for student success make him an excellent fit for Cuesta College,” said Stearns. “His commitment to removing barriers to education aligns perfectly with our mission to empower students and community.”
Hampton, who has over 14 years of experience in the California Community College system, said his first priority will be to learn about Cuesta College and the role of administrative services within the institution.
“My first priority is to learn about Cuesta College and how administrative services fits into the larger institution,” said Hampton. “I’m committed to finding ways we can enhance our service and strengthen our connection to students, ensuring our work supports their success.”
Since September, Hampton has served as acting superintendent and president at Taft College, where he previously held the position of vice president of administrative services and chief financial officer beginning in October 2022. His experience in the California Community College system spans both faculty and administrative roles.
Hampton earned a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from California State University, Northridge, in 2015. He also holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in management information systems.
A California native and first-generation college student, Hampton began his educational journey in the community college system. He emphasized his dedication to education and its role in creating opportunities for students.
