San Luis Obispo launches first-ever restaurant month
Participating restaurants will offer prix-fixe menus, happy hour specials, discounted menu items
– The City of San Luis Obispo has announced the debut of SLO Restaurant Month, a month-long celebration of the city’s culinary offerings running from Jan. 1 through Jan. 31.
Participating restaurants will offer a variety of deals, including prix-fixe menus, happy hour specials, and discounted menu items. The event aims to provide options at various price points to appeal to a broad range of diners.
“We’re thrilled to be launching SLO Restaurant Month, a chance to celebrate local flavors and support our vibrant culinary scene,” said Jacqui-Clark Charlesworth, tourism and community promotions manager for the city. “January is typically a slower month for restaurants, so choosing to dine out will help sustain small businesses and strengthen our community—one plate at a time.”
To promote the event and engage local businesses, the city partnered with broadcaster Adam Montiel, who will highlight participating restaurants and their special menus throughout the month on his podcast, “Up + Adam.” Montiel will also assist restaurants in crafting their offerings.
“After the success of SLO Restaurant Week last January, I’m excited to support San Luis Obispo’s rich and vibrant culinary scene through SLO Restaurant Month,” Montiel said. “Hats off to the city for celebrating the hardworking restaurant owners and teams behind it all. I can’t wait to dive into these exclusive menus and highlight the incredible flavors that make SLO and its cuisine so unique!”
