SLO County local participates in Naval construction effort in the Philippines

Construction project supports regional infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific area

– Jason Gray, a construction mechanic constructionman from Pismo Beach, Calif., is participating in a construction project as part of his assignment to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3.

Gray was recently photographed splicing rebar for a concrete pad in Brookes Point, Palawan, according to Rick Burke, a public affairs specialist with the Navy Office of Community Outreach.

Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, under the direction of Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, serves as a stand-in engineering force executing construction operations and activities in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area. The battalion is tasked with providing airfield, waterfront, and advanced base construction in support of major combat operations in the region.
