– The El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) hosted a Christmas Eve dinner for individuals experiencing homelessness and residents of the shelter.
The organization provides free dinners every night of the year, but the Christmas Eve meal included additional offerings to celebrate the holiday. In addition to a hot meal, attendees received gift bags, and children present at the dinner were given toys and other items.
Volunteers assisted in preparing the meal. According to a report by KSBY, nearly 80 people attended the dinner and received gifts.
The shelter also organized another meal on Christmas Day, with additional gifts distributed to attendees.
Each gift bag was filled with items donated by the community, including jackets, blankets, beanies, and other necessities.
In a Facebook post, the shelter expressed gratitude to the Atascadero Bible Church for their contributions during the holiday season. “Through your generosity, so many children utilizing ECHO’s services, and countless others from throughout our wonderful community, received thoughtful gifts, spreading joy and hope to those in need,” the post read. “Your kindness reminds us all of the power of community and compassion during this season of giving.”
The organization credited the community’s continued support for helping make a difference and emphasized the impact of collective care and generosity.
