6-month-old child exposed to meth, fentanyl; mother faces felony charges
Police find drugs during arrest in San Luis Obispo
– San Luis Obispo Police arrested a 37-year-old woman on Oct. 25 on charges of felony child endangerment and possession of narcotics following a probation compliance check, according to a press release sent out by police on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the 900 block of Olive Street, where officers from the San Luis Obispo Police Department, in collaboration with San Luis Obispo County Probation, contacted Crystal Ashley Harmon Kulinski, a San Luis Obispo resident. During the compliance check, officers discovered a substantial quantity of narcotics in Kulinski’s possession, police said.
Kulinski was taken into custody for violation of her probation, and child welfare services was called to take custody of her 6-month-old child. Subsequent testing revealed the child had been exposed to methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to police.
Kulinski remains in custody and is facing multiple charges, including:
- Felony child endangerment
- Possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sales
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance
