Artist Anita Hampton to lead live portrait demo in Morro Bay
Model for demonstration will be selected by the owner of a winning raffle ticket
– The Morro Bay Art Association will host a free demonstration with master artist Anita Hampton on Jan. 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. at 835 Main St., Morro Bay.
Hampton, known for her plein-air paintings, will demonstrate an oil portrait sketch of a live model. The model will be selected by the owner of a winning raffle ticket, giving attendees a chance to be part of the demonstration.
Hampton is a signature member of the California Art Club and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. She has also been a member of the Oil Painters of America and the Society of Western Artists. Her work has earned her a place in Who’s Who of America, and she has taught art across the United States, in France, and at the Scottsdale Art School. Hampton’s career includes numerous awards for her work.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to register for the raffle. Guests, neighbors, and relatives are welcome to attend. Anyone with a raffle ticket has the chance to win the opportunity for Hampton to create a painted portrait of them. The model for the portrait must be 18 years or older.
