Morro Bay's holiday boat parade brings holiday cheer to waterfront

Parade will take place Dec. 7

– The annual Lighted Boat Parade is set to take place on Saturday, Dec. 7, weather permitting. The event will feature vessels from the Morro Bay fishing, leisure, and yachting community adorned with bright, colorful lights, sailing along the bay in celebration of the holiday season.

Santa’s House will open on the Embarcadero at 5 p.m. before the parade for photos with Santa Claus. The Morro Bay White Caps Band will perform holiday music at the South T-Pier beginning at 5:30 p.m. Hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies will be available during the parade.

The parade will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. along the Embarcadero, with viewing areas extending from Tidelands Park, located at 339 Embarcadero, to Morro Rock. Restaurants along the route will offer window seating, and visitors are encouraged to park and walk to the Embarcadero to avoid parking challenges along the waterfront. Limited designated parking will also be available at Tidelands Park and Franklin Riley Park, located at 442 Morro Ave.

The event is free to attend and presented by the Rotary Club of Morro Bay.
