Veterans Day dinner honors local veterans at Atascadero Elks Lodge

– The Atascadero Elks Lodge #2733 will hold its annual Veterans Day Appreciation Dinner on Nov. 11 at the Atascadero Elks Lodge, located at 1516 El Camino Real. The event, which is free for all veterans and their caregivers, includes a social hour starting at 5 p.m., followed by a program at 5:30 p.m. and dinner. Non-veterans are welcome to attend for a $15 charge. Attendees are asked to RSVP by Nov. 7 by calling (805) 466-3557.
“Veterans Day is an important day not only for the Elks Lodge but for our community and the entire country,” said Mark Morisoli, the Atascadero Elks Lodge exalted ruler. “It is important that we never forget the sacrifices that our veterans have made so that we all have the freedoms that we enjoy every day.”
The Elks nationally pledge, “So long as there are veterans, the benevolent and protective order of Elks will never forget them.”
Since its founding in 1987, the Atascadero Elks have contributed over $900,000 to various programs, including youth activities, local sports, programs for children with disabilities, patriotic events, veterans’ programs, and community activities. They also run drug awareness programs in local schools and distribute dictionaries to all area third graders.
The Atascadero Elks Lodge was established on Sept. 26, 1987, with a mission to promote the principles of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity; recognize a belief in God; enhance the happiness of members; quicken American patriotism; cultivate fellowship; and continue as a fraternal organization serving people and communities through benevolent programs.
