Register for Atascadero youth basketball before Oct. 25 deadline
Youth basketball league seeks coaches and sponsors for new season
– The City of Atascadero is accepting registrations for its winter youth basketball program, with a deadline of Oct. 25. The program offers recreational basketball for children in kindergarten through 12th grade, regardless of skill level, in a non-competitive setting. The focus is on individual skill development, teamwork, and positive attitudes.
The city is also seeking volunteer coaches and sponsors for the program.
Skills clinics are mandatory for players from kindergarten through 8th grade. The schedule is as follows:
- Kindergarten players must attend on either Oct. 14 or Oct. 22 from 4 to 4:45 p.m.
- 1st and 2nd-grade players must attend on either Oct. 14 or Oct. 22 from 5 to 5:45 p.m.
- 3rd and 4th-grade players must attend on either Oct. 14 or Oct. 22 from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
- 7th and 8th-grade players must attend on either Oct. 15 or Oct. 21 from 4 to 4:45 p.m.
- 5th and 6th-grade players must attend on either Oct. 15 or Oct. 21 from 5 to 5:45 p.m.
Practices begin the week of Dec. 2, and games will be held on Saturdays starting Jan. 11.
The cost is $115 for Atascadero residents and $126 for non-residents.
