Atascadero opens registration for winter youth basketball program
– The City of Atascadero has opened registration for its winter youth basketball program, which is available for children from kindergarten through 12th grade. The program focuses on developing individual skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude in a non-competitive environment. The city encourages all skill levels to participate.
The deadline to register is Oct. 25. The city also seeks volunteer coaches and sponsors for the program.
Skills clinics are required for players in kindergarten through 8th grade. The schedule for these clinics is as follows:
- Kindergarten: Oct. 14 or Oct. 22, 4-4:45 p.m.
- 1st & 2nd Grade: Oct. 14 or Oct. 22, 5-5:45 p.m.
- 3rd & 4th Grade: Oct. 14 or Oct. 22, 6-6:45 p.m.
- 5th & 6th Grade: Oct. 15 or Oct. 21, 5-5:45 p.m.
- 7th & 8th Grade: Oct. 15 or Oct. 21, 4-4:45 p.m.
Practices are set to begin the week of Dec. 2, with games starting on Saturdays beginning Jan. 11.
