Atascadero Community Band closes season with ensemble performance
Concert scheduled for Aug. 20
– The Atascadero Community Band will conclude their summer outdoor concert series with a special “Ensembles” grand finale at the Lake Park bandstand. The weekly performances, conducted by local guest conductors, attracted large audiences and engaged the community throughout the season. The series will end with a concert featuring smaller instrumental groups within the band.
The concert, scheduled for Aug. 20 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., will highlight the talents of the band’s musicians. The performance will include a clarinet quartet, a saxophone quartet, and a flute choir, presenting a variety of music genres. The picturesque setting of Atascadero Lake Park will provide a fitting backdrop for the season-ending event.
Joyce Rabellino, president of the Atascadero Community Band, said, “The Ensemble Concert, which began as a bit of an experiment in 2023, found its way into the hearts of the community and was a resounding success. We couldn’t think of a better way to culminate our summer season. Thank you to everyone who has supported the band this summer. Your enthusiastic and generous support has buoyed and kept the band afloat for nearly forty years! We are incredibly grateful!”
The concert will be held at the Centennial Bandstand in Atascadero Lake Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. Admission and accessible parking are free, with donations always appreciated.
The Atascadero Community Band, composed of volunteer musicians, is dedicated to providing free live music performances and supporting local charities through donation proceeds.
