Body of missing woman found in ocean near Morro Bay
Body found by Coast Guard during patrols
– Authorities have located the body of a woman from San Joaquin Valley who had been reported missing for approximately two weeks. Tiffany McClure, 47, was found in the ocean off the coast of Morro Bay by the U.S. Coast Guard around 7:15 p.m. Monday during a routine patrol, according to a news release from the Tulare Police Department.
Police from Tulare and Morro Bay investigated the case and concluded that there was no evidence of foul play in McClure’s death, as stated in a news release. She was reported missing by Tulare police on July 23. The following day, her white BMW was discovered parked legally and locked, showing no signs of disturbance near Morro Strand State Beach Campground, according to Morro Bay police.
The Tulare Police Department used GPS technology to trace McClure’s vehicle to Morro Bay and then alerted local law enforcement, according to a Facebook post by the Tulare Police Department:
The San Luis Obispo County Coroner’s Office confirmed her identity on Tuesday and is reportedly set to perform an autopsy to establish the official cause of death.
