Atascadero Police welcome new K9 officer Maverick 

– The Atascadero Police Department has introduced its newest K9 officer, Maverick, who has been on patrol for about a month. Maverick recently completed six weeks of basic patrol K9 school and narcotics detection school.

In his short time on the force, Maverick has already made an impact by successfully locating drugs in a vehicle, leading to the arrest of a convicted felon.

The Atascadero Police Department shared on Facebook that Maverick sounds like a snapping turtle when he plays with his toys.
