Artist Carol Maniputy leads hand-painted table workshop in Morro Bay
– Aspiring artists will have the opportunity to blend art with practicality in an immersive hand-painted table workshop led by designer Carol Maniputy. The workshop is set to take place at the Art Center Morro Bay, located at 835 Main Street, Morro Bay, CA, on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 12 to 4:30 p.m.
During the workshop, participants will delve into the philosophy of creating beauty from everyday objects. The focal point of the workshop is the transformation of foldable tray tables into pieces of art. All necessary supplies will be provided, enabling students to craft their unique art designs on these tables. Each participant will complete one project during the workshop and can take home their newly adorned table, along with purchased art supplies for future projects.
Instructor Carol Maniputy is the owner of Peaceful Planet Images, a design team that, since 1986, has been involved in designing textiles, murals, paintings, and sculptures for hospitals, schools, public buildings, and private commissions throughout California. Carol holds a BA in Applied Art and Design from Cal Poly and has shared her expertise through teaching at various institutions, including the Slo Art Center, public and private schools in SLO County, and her own studio located in Los Osos.
The workshop is designed to cater to both beginner and intermediate artists. Online registration for the workshop is priced at $60 for members and $65 for non-members of the Art Center Morro Bay. Additionally, there is a $50 art supply fee payable to the instructor on the day of the workshop. The last day for registration is Sept. 30,.
