New board installed at recent afternoon tea

– May is the start of a new year for Quota of Atascadero. A group of eight past presidents of the club hosted an afternoon tea in April where Deena Pangborn installed the 2023-2024 officers and board of directors. Rarely does it ever happen that every member of the incoming board also served in the same positions the previous year.

As Sandra Rivera accepted the position of president for a second term she reflected on highlights from the past year. She commented on a quote given to her at last year’s installation, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” The president’s theme for last year was “Expanding Quota’s Circle of Love and Service.” Both were accomplished through the active planning and implementation of Quota’s committees. She did an overview of some of the many ways that Quota of Atascadero serves and supports our community: annually hosts the Colony Tea, provided scholarships for our youth, provided replacement chapter books for Santa Rosa Academic Academy, supported Lumina with gas and grocery cards, purchased turkeys for the Link and provided needed items as requested by a school nurse. The club also provided active hands-on service to assist with Coats for Kids, meals and serving at Echo, Packing for Soldiers, made kits for CiroFeed, and handed out hearing awareness items to children during Colony Days. The club also came alongside the Grebots, Colony Days committee, Lighthouse, and the Atascadero Community Band as sponsors.

Sandra closed with, “Yes, we certainly expanded Quota’s circle of love and service.”

Quota of Atascadero’s primary fundraisers are themed Bunco events open to the community held three to four times a year. For information about the upcoming June- 29 Bunco night with a 4th of July theme visit: quotaofatascadero.com or call (805) 237-7326.
