Fatal traffic collision reported in Atascadero
Victim’s identity is being withheld at this time
– A fatal traffic collision occurred early this morning at approximately 6:13 a.m. on Hwy 41 in the vicinity of Old Morro Road East in Atascadero.
The Atascadero Police Department and Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services responded to the scene. Upon arriving, officers discovered a single-vehicle collision involving a sole occupant. The occupant suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time.
According to police reports, the vehicle was traveling west on Hwy 41 when it left the roadway near Old Morro East for reasons yet to be determined. The vehicle ultimately collided with a tree, resulting in the occupant’s death.
