Kiwanis Club donates to Model United Nations Club at high school 

Kiwanis Club donates to Model United Nations Club at high school

– The Kiwanis Club of Atascadero recently donated $1,000 to the Model United Nations Club at Atascadero High School. The students have helped Kiwanis at past functions, such as the snow slide at the city’s pre-Christmas celebration and at the club’s installation dinner. President Dan Chinn handed over the check at the most recent club meeting.

The Model United Nations is a series of high school and college programs in which over 500,000 students participate around the world.

The goals of MUN are:

  • To further students’ understanding about the United Nations,
  • To educate students about world issues, and
  • To promote the ideal of peace through diplomacy.

Kiwanis Club of Atascadero meets every Thursday Morning at 7 a.m. The club’s stated goal is to, “focus on improving the world by serving children, one child and one community at a time.”
