Family and friends continue search for missing man

– Family and friends have not given up hope of finding Heritage Ranch resident Clayton Endes.
Endes, 32, was last seen Friday, March 4, when neighbors say he asked them if they could look after his dog for a couple of days while he went on a walkabout.
He left his truck in his driveway and his cellphones in the house. It’s believed Endes was having a mental health crisis, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.
Endes is about 5′ 9″ tall, 190 pounds, bald, with blue eyes. He was wearing all-black clothing with a black jacket and black beanie.
For more than a week now, friends and relatives have been searching for him.
People helping to find Clayton Endes are coordinating efforts near Oak Hill Market at Heritage Ranch.
A group has been meeting in the parking lot of Oak Hill Market in Heritage Ranch to coordinate search efforts and provide food and water to some 30 volunteers. They are distributing and posting missing person fliers and reviewing maps of areas searched.
Volunteers and the San Luis Obispo County Search and Rescue Team have used boats to search the perimeter of Lake Nacimiento. Others have driven the backroads around the lake, looking for Endes, and posting fliers.
Endes’ friend Marc Coons spent Saturday searching. “I went through Fort Hunter Liggett Army base to the end of the road at Indians Campground and posted fliers on all trailheads, information billboards, and campgrounds that I came across,” he said. “I spoke with anyone I came in contact with including military police on base as well as the U.S. Forest Service officer that was patrolling the Los Padres National Forest and provided them with fliers.”
Endes’ cousin Allysa Molette started a Facebook group, Clayton Endes Search and Rescue, to help find him. The group has over 1,000 followers.
Molette thanked everyone who has helped with the search this past week, and asked, “If you have any plans to go out walking, hiking, boating, driving, or even on horseback… We are wanting to get as much covered as possible and seeing everyone’s different ideas or plans will give us a better game plan.”
