Peace Corps reunion in Atascadero this month

Reunion will run for a few days

– Sierra Leone Peace Corps Volunteers (SLPCV) of 1963-65 will hold a reunion at the Atascadero Home2Suites hotel on February 23-27.

The Peace Corps volunteers served as educators in schools throughout Sierra Leone of West Africa.

Their time in Atascadero will include touring parts of San Luis Obispo county and scheduled presentations at the hotel, such as one on Midwives on Missions of Service (MOMS) and their work in Sierra Leone.

MOMS is focused on women’s health and trains the women of Sierra Leone on maternity care.

Also, there will be remembrances of those who have passed and reflections of everyone’s time in Africa.
