Motorcyclist dies in accident on Highway 101
Motorcyclist identified as 67-year-old Atascadero resident Randolph Earl
-On Monday, July 12, at approximately 9:40 p.m., 67-year-old Atascadero resident Randolph Earl was riding a black Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Highway 101, approaching Tassajara Creek Road. 45-year-old West Sacramento resident Marcos Guerrero was driving a 2021 Jeep southbound on Highway 101 before making a left turn onto Tassajara Creek Road, directly in front of the path of the motorcyclist. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the Jeep, causing Earl to be ejected.
Earl was transported to Sierra Vista Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision, according to California Highway Patrol.
