Fire reported at Atascadero residence

No injuries reported, dog and cat safely rescued

–A fire at a single-family residence was reported at 4724 Arizona Ave. in Atascadero at around 8:30 p.m. on April 8.

Upon arrival, Atascadero firefighters found a single-story residence with smoke coming from the roof and attic area. Fire crews deployed hose lines and entered the residence to find fire throughout the living room attic space. Ceiling material and insulation were removed to gain access to the flames.

Fire crews were able to keep the fire from extending to any other portions of the residence. All occupants were able to safely exit the residence. One dog and one cat were trapped inside of the residence but were safely removed without any injuries.
