Lion King Day coming to Charles Paddock

Several Keeper Talks will be held throughout the day to showcase a few of the animals featured in the Lion King movie.
–Everyone is invited to celebrate Lion King Day at the Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero on Saturday, Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. On Lion King Day, the first 80 children that enter the zoo will get an official Lion King Activity Booklet. In addition, various education animals will be out and about with their zoo handlers; visitors will get to see baby flamingo feeding at 1:30 p.m., plus several Keeper Talks will be held throughout the day to showcase a few of the animals featured in the Lion King movie.
Keeper Talks:
10:30 a.m. – Meerkats
11:30 a.m. Hornbills
12:30 p.m. – Bat Eared Foxes
To celebrate Lion King Day, the Keeper Talks, visitor opportunities to see education animals up close, and the baby flamingo feeding are all included with the price of general admission.
The Charles Paddock Zoo is one of only 233 total institutions that are accredited by the Association of Zoo’s & Aquariums (AZA). The Zoo is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species, educating the public about the natural world, and providing a safe and stimulating recreational resource for residents and visitors of the Central Coast of California. Over 200 animals call the Charles Paddock Zoo home, including red pandas, monkeys, meerkats, parrots, a Malayan Tiger, a variety of reptiles and more.
