September programming at the Atascadero Library

The Atascadero Library is located at 6555 Capistrano Ave in Atascadero.
–The Atascadero Library has announced programming for September.
Many of the listed library programs are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Atascadero Library.
The library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 for Labor Day.
Children’s programs
Preschool storytimes
Preschool storytimes are scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30. They will share stories and songs.
Toddler Storytime
Storytime specifically designed for toddlers every Friday morning at 10:30. They will share stories, rhymes, music and finger plays.
Craft Club
Come make a fun project! Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m. Registration required.
Family Movie
Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. See library website for details. All ages.
Family Maker Day
Bring the family for an afternoon tinkering, playing, and making! Stations include paper airplanes, GeoMags, button making, and more. Saturday, Sept. 14 1:30-3:30 p.m. All ages.
Lego Club
Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. Registration required. Ages 5-12.
Teen Programs
Mosaic frames for teens
Create mosaic frames to keep. Friday, Sept. 20 at 2:30 p.m. Registration required. Ages 10-17.
Teen Advisory Board Meeting
Bring your ideas on what you would like to see in the library and stay for the raffle and refreshments! Sign up at meeting required. Board meets every third Friday of the month (Sept. 20) at 3:30. Ages 13-17.
Adult Programs
Poetry workshop
Annie Harpel will explore three types of poetry, while you write and discuss your own. Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11. For teens and adults.
Elephant Seal presentation
Learn about the elephant seals found on the beaches north of San Simeon. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 3:30. All ages.
Healthy Snack Day
Healthy Snack Day is coordinated by the CA Department of Public Health’s CalFresh Healthy Living program. The library event will include recipe swapping and healthy treats. Thursday, Sept 12 from 2-4 p.m. All ages.
Book discussion groups
The two library book groups are Gem in the Stacks which meets the 1st TUE (SEPT 3) of the month at 11:00 and Mixed Minds Book Group which meets the 3rd THU (SEPT 19) of the month at 2:30. Gems in the Stacks will discuss The Library Book by Susan Orlean. Mixed Minds will discuss The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George.
People and Places: A Photographic Journey Through Time
Featuring the work of eight local photographers. Art is on display from September through November.
