Series of vehicle burglaries reported in Shandon
–On Thursday, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a series of crimes in the Shandon area which included the theft of three vehicles and the burglary of a residence.
The first incident occurred in the 100 block of South 7th Street in Shandon of a report of a stolen truck which later crashed in the 2500 block of San Juan Road.
The suspect or suspects then stole a nearby ranch utility vehicle and drove it to the 300 block of Truesdale Road in Shandon, where a home was burglarized. It’s not known what items were taken from the residence.
At that time, a single suspect then ran to a nearby home in the 600 block of Mesa Grande Drive and stole a car that was parked in the driveway of a home in the 500 block of Mesa Grande Drive.
A search was conducted which included sheriff’s deputies, CHP units and a CHP helicopter. No suspects were located and it’s now believed the suspect or suspects have left the area.
A witness described a potential suspect as a White male adult, 20-25 years old, 5′ 6″ to 5′ 8″ tall, thin build, light-colored beard, wearing a blue shirt and black pants.
Deputies located the last vehicle that was stolen which was described as a black 2008 Chevrolet Malibu in the city of Paso Robles.
