Special Olympics Hot Shots win game against Atascadero Fire and Police

—The Special Olympics Hot Shots basketball team declared a 63-33 victory over the Atascadero Police & Fire Departments at their fundraising game held Saturday, May 12. This was the fifth annual game in which the Hot Shots remain undefeated.

“Excellent passing, shooting, working together as a team, [and] very strong players so it is a lot of fun to go see [and] a lot of fun to participate in,” said Atascadero city manager Rachelle Rickard at the May 22 city council meeting.

Before the game, guests could purchase a BBQ dinner ticket. One could throw a half court, free throw, or both if they made a half-time donation.
