El Camino Homeless Organization announces new leadership
Wendy Lewis steps in as new Executive Director for ECHO
– ECHO (EI Camino Homeless Organization), which operates the north county’s only homeless shelter, recently hired Wendy Lewis as their new Executive Director.
Wendy comes f rom a 10-year career at the Food Bank Coalition of SLO County. Most recently Wendy held the position as Chief Operations Officer. She played a key role in the successful growth at the Food Bank and helped guide them alongside former CEO Carl Hansen to where they sit today. As ECHO is at the cusp of an important time of growth and transition, Wendy brings the skillset to lead the organization where it needs to be today and where it needs to be in 10 years.
“I am thrilled to have been selected to lead such an amazing non-profit organization with a 17-year history of helping feed and house the homeless,” said Lewis. “After a very fulfilling career with t he SLO County Food Bank I will now have the opportunity to work with another population that is close to my heart. ECHO’s mission is to empower people in North County to make positive change by providing food, shelter and supportive services and I am grateful to have the opportunity to help.”
