Nominations open for Women of Distinction awards

–Cuesta College and the Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County Women’s Legacy Fund are excited to announce open nominations for the prestigious 41st Annual Women of Distinction Awards. The purpose of the awards is to celebrate Women’s History Month (March) and recognize the contributions women have made in the areas of volunteering in the community, their profession and in philanthropy.
The four award categories are: – Community and Public Service Award – Professional – Community and Public Service Award – Volunteer – Progress for Women Award – Grace N. Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award
The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2016, from 4– 6 p.m. on Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus in Building 5400, Room 5401.
“Each year, the Cuesta College Foundation looks forward to partnering with the Women’s Legacy Fund to recognize the achievements of women in our county,” said Shannon Hill, executive director of the Cuesta College Foundation/Advancement.
Last year’s winners were: – Community and Public Service Award – Professional: Nancy Walker – Community and Public Service Award – Volunteer: Shelly Higginbotham – Progress for Women Award: Janna Nichols – Susan Dressler Educational Leadership Award (Special award): Mila Vujovich-La Barre – Grace N. Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award: Roxanne Carr
