Donald Swisher dies
Donald Swisher passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2017 at his home in Sonoma, California. Don grew up in Haxtun, Colorado and graduated from Haxtun High School. in 1944. He served in the US Army with the Occupation Forces in Italy from 1945-1946. He graduated from Colorado A&M in electrical engineering in 1950 and worked in the aerospace industry as an electrical and reliability engineer on aircraft, missile and satellite programs for Douglas Aircraft, Radioplane, Lockheed, and Hughes Aircraft. He and his wife Doralyn retired to Paso Robles and were members of the Templeton Presbyterian Church and Do Paso Square Dance Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doralyn, his sisters Virginia Roberts of Atascadero, Shirley Smith of Haxtun, CO., and Joan Carlson, and his parents Clara and Fred Swisher. His memorial service will be at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Sonoma California at 2 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2018. Don is survived by his children Jannett Swisher, Kent Swisher and his wife Mary, and Douglas Swisher and his wife Ann, and his four grandchildren Courtney, Molly, Rod and Jay.
