Art Center Morro Bay offers ‘Old World Drawing and Painting’ course
–”Old World Drawing and Painting,” is a 10 month course that will meet twice a month. The course will progress through four segments that build upon each previous segment. There will be two months of drawing, two months of painting with black and white, two months of painting with a limited palette and four months of painting with a full palette. The first class of each segment explores particular aspects of drawing or painting with a brief lesson and a simple assignment to immediately turn the ideas into marks on a surface. This is the crux of this course; eliminating the chasm between idea and action. The remaining classes in each segment will be spent applying those particular aspects to still life or portrait giving everyone time to internalize the lesson and get feed back.
There will be on-line content available as well. The content will consist of optional assignments for those that want to draw and paint outside of class as well videos expanding upon ideas discussed in the classroom. For the course description, visit the Art Center Morro Bay website.
All levels of abilities and experience are welcome. The class meets every other Mon beginning Feb 5, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. The fee is $35 for members and $40 for non-members.
