Prescribed fire operations to occur in North Coast today
–Prescribed burn fire operations to occur in Harmony Headlands State Park on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Burning will not occur if a burn ban is in effect or if weather conditions do not permit burning. The park will be closed for the day.
The burn will occur in Harmony Headlands State Park, along the southwest corner of the park from the main stock pond to the coast.
This burn is part of a prescribed fire program for habitat management. This burn will maintain the existence of native grasslands by introducing rotational burning of the coastal scrub.
The burn is held by CA State Parks, in cooperation with CAL FIRE, and the Air Pollution Control District will.
