Two teens found hiding in a closet arrested for burglary
–On Sunday, at 11:55 a.m. Police Officers from the Morro Bay Police Department responded to the 2000 block of Ironwood Ave. to a report of a burglary in progress in which a man was seen climbing through an open window.
On arrival, with the assistance of a San Luis Obispo Co. Sheriff Deputy, officers began searching the residence for possible suspects. As the officers searched the residence, two suspects were discovered hiding inside a closet.
The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Judal Emmanuel Thompson, and a 14-year old female subject. The suspects were arrested without incident.
During the investigation, officers discovered that a camping trailer parked at the residence had also been burglarized by entry into the roof skylight. Evidence was discovered at both scenes which connected both suspects to both burglaries. Stolen currency in the amount of $200 was recovered.
Thompson was transported and booked into the San Luis Obispo Co. Jail on two counts of first-degree burglary – 459 PC, and the juvenile was booked into the San Luis Obispo Co. Juvenile Services Center on two counts of first-degree burglary.
