Tower Fire off of Cuesta Grade fully contained

The Tower Fire that ignited off of the Cuesta Grade has been fully contained as of Saturday evening, according to Cal Fire.

Update posted July 8, 7:30 a.m.

As of July 8 at 10 p.m., the Tower Fire is holding at approximately 60 acres. It is 45 to 50% contained, according to Cal Fire. Crews were working through the night on containment. A more recent update has not been released from Cal Fire as of 7:30 a.m.

–Cal Fire is reporting that a new vegetation fire has ignited off of Northbound 101 Cuesta Grade. The fire is at 20 acres as of 4:45 p.m., and is spreading rapidly, according to Cal Fire. Power lines in the area are down. A car, fully engulfed by flames, appears to be the source of the blaze.

No further information is available at this time. Updates will be posted.
