Atascadero Library July event schedule 

The Atascadero Library is located at 6555 Capistrano Ave in Atascadero.

For more information about the following programs, please call the library at (805) 461-6162. The library will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.


Children’s Programs

Preschool Storytimes

Preschool storytimes are scheduled on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30. We will share stories and songs.

Toddler Storytimes

Join us for a storytime specifically designed for your toddler every Friday morning at 10:30. We will share stories, rhymes, music and finger plays.

Superhero Storytime

  • Dress up as your favorite superhero and join us for this family event.
  • Tuesday, July 18th at 6:00
  • All ages

Paddock Puppet Players

  • Join us as we welcome the Paddock Puppet Players for some animal themed puppet fun!
  • Friday, July 7th at 10:30
  • Fun for all ages

Family Movie

Saturday, July 1st at 2:00. See library website for details

Craft Club

  • Come make a fun project!
  • Wednesday, July 5th at 3:30
  • Registration required. Please call or register online.
  • Ages 6 to 12.

Lego Club

  • Join us Saturday, July 15th at 2:00 for some Lego building fun!
  • Registration required. Please call or register online.
  • Ages 5-12

Summer Reading Program – June 5th to July 29th

Reading by Design (For babies, children and teens) Signup for the Summer Reading Program, starting June 5th. Read 10 books or for 10 day and earn prizes at your library.

Giant Blocks Play Day with Imagination Station

Thursday, July 27th at 10:30 and 11:00. Ages 3 and up. Registration Required.

Make a Bath Balm with SLO MakerSpace

Saturday, July 8th at 11:00. Ages 10-17. Registration Required.

Beautiful Paper Art Crafts for Teens

Saturday, July 15th at 11:00. Ages 10-17. Registration Required.


Adult Programs

 

Adult Summer Reading

The Adult Summer Reading Program continues through July 29th with the theme “Build Better World”. Finish three books and get a prize and be invited to the “Celebration for the Finishers” which meets on August 5th from 12-1 where you’ll have a chance to win a Kindle Paperwhite E-reader. Color in Bloom: The Art of Mandy Weathers

During July, the Atascadero Library will feature the art of Mandy Weather. Her passions for color, flowers, architecture, and landscape design are reflected in the watercolors and acrylics in this exhibit.  Weathers’ art has been displayed in galleries and art shows in Colorado and Oregon, as well as in California. Book Discussion Groups

The two adult library book groups are Gems in the Stacks, which meets this month on the 2nd Tuesday (July 11) of the month at 11:00 am, and Mixed Minds Book Group which meets the 3rd Thursday (July 20) of the month at 2:30 pm. Gems in the Stacks will discuss Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Mixed Minds Book Group will discuss The Buddha in the Attic by Julie Otsuka. For more information, please call the library at 461-6162.

Alice Creasy Rew Bookstore

The Alice Creasy Rew Bookstore is located by the lobby of the Atascadero Library. This is the place to find great used books for sale at fabulous bargain prices.
