Fires ignite near Atascadero, Camp Roberts

Two fires ignite over weekend
–A vegetation fire sparked near the intersection of Rocky Canyon Road and Old Adobe Canyon Road, east of Atascadero Saturday afternoon, according to Cal Fire San Luis Obispo.
The fire, dubbed the “Rocky Fire” broke out at around 1:30 p.m. and was initially reported to be around four acres. At around 6 p.m., the fire was 100-percent contained at 17-acres.
Another fire in San Luis Obispo County, the Range Fire, scorched over 5,000 acres near Camp Roberts on Friday. That fire was likely sparked at the shooting range at the base, reports say.
