Bakersfield woman rescued after attempting to climb Morro Rock

–A 42-year-old Bakersfield woman was rescued after attempting to climb Morro Rock Sunday morning, according to Morro Bay Fire.

The woman will face fines from $2-3,000 in rescue fines alone, reports say. State parks cited her for a misdemeanor, and she was brought in on a warrant out of Bakersfield.

She was assisted down around 2 p.m. with ropes by the Morro Bay Fire Department. The fire department reminds the public that climbing Morro Rock is dangerous and illegal.
