Construction on trailhead project nearing completion
–The City of Atascadero has announced that the construction work on the Three Bridges Trailhead Project is nearing completion. The Trailhead Project will provide access to the Three Bridges Oak Preserve trail system, which is currently being completed by the Atascadero Land Preservation Society (ALPS). A grand opening to the public of both the trailhead and the trail system is anticipated to be held in the early summer, 2017. The entry gates will remain locked until after the trailhead and the trail construction is complete and ALPS has determined that the vegetation has stabilized.
The Three Bridges trail project will feature a beautiful and well-manicured hiking, biking and horseback riding trail that includes creative switchbacks which allow visitors to appreciate a wide variety of natural scenes including native trees and topography, beautiful vistas and a breathtaking view to look forward to at the top of the trail. The ALPS team has spent countless volunteer hours on building the trail, thinking of everything to make it a genuinely rewarding experience.
