Theft suspect arrested wearing shoes reported stolen the day before
–On Monday at about 8 p.m., San Luis Obispo police officers responded to Best Buy because a person in the store matched the description of the suspect in the Broad Street Big 5 and Staples store thefts the day before, where a male suspect entered the business stole a pair of shoes and left the business. The suspect was described as a white male adult, 30 years, approximately 6-01, with neck tattoos wearing a red “Angels” sweatshirt, and a blue baseball cap.
An alert citizen, who had seen the suspect’s photo from the press release, called the police when he recognized the person in the store. When officers arrived, they located and arrested Sean Reinhardt who was in possession of stolen property from the original thefts. Reinhardt was actually wearing the shoes he had stolen from Big 5 the day earlier. Other property from the Big 5 and Staples thefts was located in a car in the parking lot.
Reinhardt was booked at San Luis Obispo County Jail without incident. The police department says it is very appreciative of citizens who work to combat crime. The citizen in this case was instrumental to the police department apprehending the suspect.
