Police seek help identifying man caught stealing package off porch 

City has seen increase in mail and package theftspackage-theft-meda-release

–On Thursday, at approximately 7:19 p.m., the San Luis Obispo Police Department was called to a report of a theft that occurred at 12:23 p.m. The victim reported an unknown subject stole a UPS package from the front porch of their residence located in the 900 block of Tarragon. The victim provided surveillance footage of the subject who stole the package.

San Luis Obispo Police Department is seeking your help in identifying the suspect pictured. If you have any information about this crime you are encourage to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at 805-781-7312 or Crime Stoppers at 805-549-STOP.

Over the last month, the city has seen an increase in mail and package thefts when those items are left by delivery drivers and not immediately retrieved by their intended recipients. Thieves take advantage of the increased number of packages being delivered during the holiday season. The police department encourages residents to have items delivered to locations where they can be retrieved as soon as possible.
