Photography workshop features lighting, professional nude model
—Atascadero’s Ärt / Studio & Gallery will host a workshop with professional art photographer Michael V. Messina on Jan. 14, 2017 from 1-4 p.m., at 5806 Traffic Way in Atascadero. The “Life and Lighting” photography workshop invites participants “to use light and pose to photographically capture the timeless beauty of the human figure using international professional art nude model Katja Gee. Messina will present a brief overview of lighting and photographing the human figure. Most of the workshop will consist of hands-on practice in photographing the model in a variety of nude and clothed poses.”
Messina is an award-winning fine art photographer based in Atascadero who has had his work exhibited internationally. He studied photography at the San Francisco Academy of Art University and specializes in portraiture that ranges in style from fine art to the traditional headshot. In addition to his portraiture work, the photographer also explores the realm of thematic imagery ranging from the drama of mythology and folklore to the timeless beauty and sensuality celebrated through the feminine form.
The cost of the workshop is $100 with a $50 deposit required to reserve one’s position. Refreshments, lighting, props and the model are provided. Just bring your camera and a desire to learn and create art. To reserve, phone gallery owner Marie Ramey, (805) 466-3684, or contact Michael Messina at (805) 708-1952.
